I am incredibly excited to post the before & afters of Project J’s master bedroom! I hope you have previously checked out the beautiful office makeover we did for this client – and what a world of difference white paint can make!
Well the same theory was applied to her bedroom and the results are night and day.
Let me remind you of the room before we started the project –
Jaclyn’s main concern with the room was that is felt disjointed and lacked the polished look she was actually drawn to. On a whim – she had recently painted the spotted canvas you can see in the before picture. We both loved how playful this pattern is and I knew we could draw major inspiration from it for the rest of the room!
Because most of the budget was being pushed into the office revamp – I made a short list of achievable changes that would bring major impact without breaking the bank.
- -Paint walls white
- -Clean carpets
- -Restyle & organise closet
- -Mount TV
- -New Decorative Pillows for bed
- -Plants (Always a priority for making a space feel truly lived in!)
Below is the mood board I put together on Pinterest when thinking about the space:
Video of my handyman aka my adorably annoying brother helping me mount the TV:
We pulled all the furniture out so that we could deep clean the carpets, paint the walls/ceiling/trim white and prep the room for installation. We then mounted the television onto the wall, hid all the electrical and sprayed all the metal fixtures in the room a brilliant gold. Finally, we installed black out blinds and returned the next day to install!
FINALLY …… cue the drumroll……
We can all agree that just a few changes have made a major difference!
Jaclyn and I are both so pleased with how the room turned out. By removing the red dresser, the bench & mounting the TV we were able to free up plenty of of floor space to make the overall room feel larger.
Working with Jaclyn on this two room project was such a treat – and a perfect example to everyone how some minor changes can really change the overall feeling of a room.
If you haven’t had the chance – make sure you check out the original office makeover blog post too!
Let me know what you think!
